Last Day- The Parents return!

I kind of lost track of the week. Things were a bit busy. We went off to the river today to throw rocks. They can do this for hours! WELCOME BACK Jana and Danny!!!  There were some pretty excited boys tonight  It was wonderful having this gorgeous spring weather all week.

Must carry 15lbs of rocks, in case the beach runs out!

It's only a matter of time till someone ends up in the water....
He loved this BIG slide.

LOVE the tire containment facility!

Lots of fun!

One throwing rocks IN, the other throwing rocks OUT.

Hawaii- Monday

Monday was busy. The boys went to see Karen for a couple hours, so I could do my day at the thrift store. She got Cohen on the bus and Ezra got to play at home for  few hours. When Cohen got home from school, I picked them up and brought them home for naps. This kept them on their usual weekly routine, sort of...Thank you Auntie Karen!
I LOVE Sunday walks around the pond, after a LONG Sunday nap!

Grampa was actually RUNNING, trying to get the little rock collectors moving. They think they need to stockpile rocks ALL the way, to have enough to throw in the pond.

Big man, Ezra

First big rock!

Never.ever.ever enough rock tossing.

Ezra could not BELIEVE this was sitting behind the barn! uh uh uh UH UH UH UHHHHH UHHHHHH  UHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! He HAD to get on.

Then he felt he needed to tell me how to make dinner.

Before bed story.

Thrift store find. Connect four and tiny tiny cars, perfect for the little hoarders.

Goats are DARN fun. AND Cohen is climbing and climbing!!!!!!

He went up and down EACH row!

The goat Shepard had a BUSY day. Ezra and I came in at 5 to make dinner and Cohen stayed in his goat chair for another 30 minutes. He says they NEED him!

Only 1 tragedy today. Ezra came out crying, holding his finger out to me to kiss. I kissed it and noticed how WET is was, at the SAME time Cohen let me know that, "Ezra keeps putting his fingers in the TOILET water, Gramma!".  Nice. Yech.

They have been sleeping a bit later, because of the time change, but of course Cohen informed me that it CAN'T be bedtime, the sun is still up!

ALSO Ezra has started calling me, something! MAY MAY!! Close, really close... Gramma!

Jana and Danny go to Hawaii

Jana and Danny left the boys for pretty much the first time EVER (for more than a day or 2).  And went on a MUCH deserved trip to Hawaii for a week.

This is to let them see pictures of the boys, without  flooding Facebook. The boys pretty much putter their way through the day. The first time I saw Cohen be sad, was this morning, He SAW them on video chat, but we could not hear them. He got really sad and wanted to call them again. SO we phoned and he was fine and went back to his new hobby "goat tending".

SO here is the flood of pictures from he first few days.

Patterning with the pegs

They love playing on the landing of the stairs.
Everybody was SO excited about Pine cone pick up day!

Throwing rocks in the water without worrying about someone falling in.

Smoothie snack break!

Kettlecorn!

Banana pancake "cookies", for snack

Cohen insisted on pulling, Ezra insisted on riding. Not going anywhere too fast,

A pretty successful day when the house looks like this...

I noticed this after bed time... Looks like a bad cockroach disaster on the farm...

Dirty goat Shepard, ready for a bath.

This reminded me of my dad. Super skinny, with the pants pulled way up.

A little more goat watching. He now has an official chair!

Whole 30 Thai Chicken Wraps

Thai Chicken Wraps
Taken from Jana's recipe for Thai Chicken Wraps with Peanut sauce

Sauce:
In a small saucepan combine:
1/2 C. Sunflower butter (or almond. I prefer sunflower, overall)
4 T. Coconut Aminos
1/4 T. coconut water
2 T. olive oil
1. clove minced garlic
2-3 t. Green Chili paste
Heat and stir till blended

Meat:
4 large chicken breasts, cut into cubes
2 T. coconut oil
1 t. garlic salt
1 t. pepper
16 oz broccoli, chopped
1 medium red onion, chopped
2 t. grated ginger

In a large skillet, cook the chicken with garlic salt and pepper.
Add a little coconut water (2 T or so) to deglaze the pan. I like mine not quite so thick...)
Add broccoli, onion, and ginger to skillet.

Cook and stir 3-4 minutes.
Pour the sauce over and heat through.

I served this over sauteed Kale. You can use sauteed zucchini or wrap in lettuce leaves. Use the vehicle of you choice!  I try to make enough so I have leftovers for lunch.

If the REST of your family is not doing Whole 30, they will loved this wrapped in a warm tortilla.

I wanted to blog my food everyday when I first did the Whole 30 in July. ha ha ha
I do enjoy making recipes "work" and trying new things.

Monday!

This is a bit backwards. BUT They were all in bed at 8 last night and it did us all a world of good. Lots of rest. They had played hard outside most of the afternoon. And have been waking each other up WAY too early. Like 4 or 5 am early!

The boys were ready to rumble for school. They have been doing a great job getting ready and out to the bus on time.
These guys are pretty special. Josiah has taken on the role of "oldest guy" and I am loving the help he gives! Jordan made sure the garbage was hauled out to the road today, the MINUTE he got off the bus!!

After school I try to let them chill with a snack and then they can ease into their homework. The boys were done today by the time I had to run to school and pick Michelle up after practice.

AMAZING facts for today! Jordan can READ all these books!

Eli had ALL his homework done in 20 minutes!!!

AND Michelle and Josiah are planning to write a book together. I kind of hope 8 days at Grammas doesn't have much to do with this!

Josiah landed at a site for Science Kids. SO he did an experiment to see if eggs float in salt water.

YEP! They do!!

Michelle has been working on a photo challenge for the month on Instagram. This involves shooting "selfies" for more of the afternoon, until I need my phone back. Today was "smile". And hers IS beautiful! She has also been keeping the laundry moving along!

But she found a cool app:  Sketch Guru
Then she threatened me that I may NOT hack her instagram and post photos of myself all day while she is at school. hmmmm

We are settling into a nice routine here. I am sad that the rains have returned. Michelle's fastpitch game was rained out today. Tomorrow is the make up game, and Jordans football game.
